We visited l'heure bleue from the 28th of December 2011 till the 13th of January. It felt like being in paradise for 2 weeks. Away from busy life. The views are stunning. The beach is around the corner and the diving centre at walking distance.
This is the perfect place to combine day trips (fishing trips, trips to nosy Komba, diving with Scuba Nosy Be, a trip to Lokobe or one of the islands in the bay etc.) with days of relaxation at 'home'.
Book a massage and you will get treated to a relaxing massage with a stunning view.
The staff is very friendly. We left a tip for the cleaning lady, on the first day, she refused. We thought it was to little. But she told us that she earned a good salary and loved her job and didn't need our extra money. How cool is that.... in one of the poorest countries of the world.
The staff is treated very good and on new years eve there was a good party and all the staff joined in. And the next morning at breakfast they were friendly as ever!
And then the food. We booked half pension. Every night a 3 course meal with a choice of a fish and a meat dish. And if you wanted a vegetarian dish they would prepare you something of your choice (no extra charge). Breakfast with fresh fruit and good coffee!
And if you book a day trip ask if they prepare you tuna sandwiches! They are really nice!
We really enjoyed our selves and met a number a nice and interesting people while staying here. If we have to name one thing that wasn't good.... It might be the rain. When it rains... It really rains! It doesn't last long fortanely.
This is a really a place worth visiting, a beautiful island, nice people and beautiful diving spots, just around the corner! Ask at the reception for the divecenter: Scuba Nosy Be. Very professional and friendly guys, who are able to tend to every kind of diver (experienced or not).
Anyway: we are definitely coming back here!

"so magical"
Beautiful setting, charming atmosphere. Super attentive service. Jean Louis always ready to share the appetizer. 1 week of true happiness, without artifice, at the edge of a wild beach, no tourists, fishermen's canoes with crews before our eyes, the coconut trees swaying in the breeze. Only small downside, a little too expensive for Mada. This is a place or I would have stopped wanting me to be elsewhere Stayed November 2011 |

"L'Heure Bleue, all of a poem..."
After visiting the park of Montagne d'Ambre and the Ankarana park, arrived at l'Heure Bleue for a week of relaxation at two, we were in a wooden bungalow with terrace and view on the bay.Le Chef offers a different menu every day, everything is very good with local and European cuisine, all is fresh and homemade. I remember the plate of seafood, really a feast, the fresh fruit cocktails, taste the coconut punch... "hard to come back to reality." Jean-Louis, the manager of the house, will advise you on your trips and your comfort, always worried about your well being. Moéra's smile, the kindness of Clarisse, the professionalism of Véronique, and Raymond's tranquility, not to mention Mary, loveable's housekeeper, make this hotel a human of humanity.Merci to all of you for making our honeymoon an unforgettable stay.We do not forget Pipo and Florette... "A dream holiday"
Just returned from our stay of one week at l'Heure bleue. We wanted to change peeled and we have more than asked. L'Heure Bleue gathers everything you are looking for a vacation paradise. Breathtaking views of the bay (from the terrace and bungalows), the staff is very endearing (a big kiss to Marie and Morea and everyone else too!), Typical dishes from Mada all equally good as others to make you melt! Jean Louis, the master of the place, is always there to worry about your comfort and will take you to the right people for any type of excursion. A hotel to recommend without hesitation! "An unequaled charm on the island"
Regular traveler to Madagascar, I put my luggage unconditionally to l' Heure Bleue for already 4 years, when my trips lead me to Nosy Be. This summer I was fortunate to be one of the first discoverers of the new lodges in the hotel. Perfectly integrated on the field, new bungalows are another step towards the smart casual luxury. Congratulations to l'Heure Bleue, especially as other beautification projects are on the way. Note a breathtaking panorama from the terraces of new lodges, over the bay of Ambatoloaka and a restaurant that continues to amaze us. Soon for another stay of beauty and charm at your institution.

"Fantastic"
This Hotel is AMAZING. The staff are unbelievably friendly and go out of the way to help you. The accomodation is simple yet great, bringing you straight into a relaxed state and within the culture. The food is probably the best thing about this place - FANTASTIC. Every night there is something new, unique and unbelievably tasty! We spoke to a lot of people who were on holiday in Madagasgar at the time and we have to say this hotel was the best - without a doubt book here and have a holiday of a life time. Just take a French phrase book if you are not fluent will definatly help a bit! Room Tip: Either of the beach front bungalows or the new ones are great. If you want something more upmarket go for the new bungalows.
